Thanksgiving at Franklin

There were many celebrations all around Franklin this Thanksgiving week.

On Friday, November 18th, the ENL Department, with the assistance of Franklin’s principal, Lorraine Smyth, assistant principal, Amy Pernick, social worker, Andrea Lev, and our very own nurse, Margie Tannenbaum, had its fourth annual Thanksgiving feast for English Language Learners.  Students were invited to a traditional Thanksgiving meal.  There was turkey, stuffing, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, corn and pumpkin pie for dessert.  Before students ate their meal, they were reminded of the meaning of this holiday and the importance of giving thanks.  Mrs. Krokoff and Ms. Raikos, dressed in Pilgrim and Native American costumes, performed a short skit for the students before the feast began.  It was a fun, and delicious, learning experience for the students.
