• Summer 2018

    Dear Parents and Guardians,

Happy summer! This past week has been a flurry of activity at Hewlett-Woodmere Public Schools, culminating with five wonderful recognition, moving up, and graduation ceremonies. From our Franklin first graders to our Hewlett High School seniors, it was a joy to celebrate outstanding milestones with all of our 2018 graduates.

The 2017-2018 school year has been filled with extraordinary learning, exceptional achievements by our students and staff, incredible concerts, plays, musicals, and gallery openings, exciting athletic contests, and so much more! I consider it an honor and a privilege to share all of these outstanding events with our students, staff, parents, and community members. I would like to thank you for joining us at so many of our Board of Education meetings, Roundtables, and wonderful District and school occasions.

This summer, we will be continuing to invest in upgrading our District facilities. The following projects are scheduled to begin shortly: FECC HVAC and playground upgrades and window replacements; HES HVAC and playground upgrades; OES Library Media Center and playground upgrades; WEC window replacements; and phone and public address system upgrades at WMS and HHS. As you can see, we will be quite busy readying our schools for the students’ return in September!

We look forward to seeing many of our community’s children at our wonderful summer programs throughout July and August. These programs will be taking place at Woodmere Middle School to allow for construction work at all of our other facilities.

Please remember to watch our Website in August for the District calendar that will list all of the important dates and events for the 2018-2019 school year.

On behalf of everyone at Hewlett-Woodmere Public Schools, I wish you a wonderful summer filled with great times with family and friends, warm days outside in the sun, good books, and lasting memories.

I look forward to seeing you again in September.

    Warm regards,

    Ralph Marino, Jr., Ed.D.
