Student Opportunity Fund
Overview
Student Opportunity Fund Established In the 2005-2006 school year, Hewlett-Woodmere Public Schools launched the district-wide Student Opportunity Fund. The Student Opportunity Fund provides financial assistance to students whose families would otherwise not be able to pay for all or some of the costs necessary to participate in school-related events, such as field trips, exchange programs, travel, after-school activities, etc. Contributions to the Student Opportunity Fund are always appreciated and may be made in recognition of a staff member, student, community member or friend of the Hewlett-Woodmere community. If desired, a keepsake card is sent to the person being honored. Contributing to the Student Opportunity Fund can be a worthwhile way to help a student as well as recognize a faculty or staff member in lieu of gifts.
