Plant Propagation

Plant propagation is the process of creating new plants from existing stock.   

The OEC propagation program uses multiple growing media such as vermiculite, perlite, and various potting soil mixes to generate new plants from existing stock.  Several propagation techniques such as stem cutting, root cutting and layering are used continually in the greenhouse.  Possible teaching topics include but are not limited to; grafting; layering; root and stem cutting; plant growth dynamics; statistical analysis; landscape architecture; biodiversity, and philanthropy.
