Microwaved Vegetables

            Seventh grade students in Mr. Perlow and Dr. Mossey’s classes visited the greenhouse in the OEC to investigate the influence that microwaved radiation has on radish germination.  Working in groups, students attempted to germinate 50 seeds that had been microwaved for different amounts of time.  The students discussed the possibility of heat and radiation on the germination and growth of plants.  The classes had the opportunity to compile whole class data, analyze the data and create conclusions based on their work.
