Fertilizer and Sunflowers
Does Fertilizer Make Sunflowers Grow Faster and Stronger?
Students from the sixth grade visited the greenhouse in the OEC to conduct an experiment investigating the influence of fertilizer on the growth of sunflowers. Students germinated seeds and then applied a different amount of fertilizer solution to the seedlings for a period of 6 weeks. Each week the students tracked stem height, number of leaves, and overall color and health of the sunflowers. After the experimental conclusions where reached the students got to take the sunflowers home to plant just in time for the spring and summer growing season.
