Carnivorous Bog

A terrarium is a diverse habitat contained within a confined space.  A carnivorous bog terrarium highlights the unique and exciting habitat created when nutrients are in short supply. 

The OEC carnivorous bog terrarium contains two separate growing environments that house several species of carnivorous and bog plants.  The terrarium is self-contained, student designed, and actively managed by both staff and students.  Possible teaching topics include but are not limited to: plant adaptations; bog habitat; soil composition; biodiversity; and nutrient depletion.
