Building a Carnivorous Bog Terrarium 

 

One of the first projects conceived in the greenhouse was the construction of a carnivorous bog terrarium.  Several students worked diligently to research soil condition, terrarium design, plant species, and watering needs related to growing plants (mainly carnivorous plants) in a bog habitat.  The students designed the terrarium, amended the soil, helped order the plants, and then built the bog habitat over the course of several months.   Please enjoy a selection of pictures from the construction phase and the finished bog terrarium.  Many thanks to David Umanskiy  and Sam Bogdanov.
