SummaryI have always enjoyed the arts. When I was a kid I would build sculptures out of sticks, mud and other things I found around the yard. I would color all the time and try all kinds of materials. In middle school I began to learn about photography and drawing. Through high school I was the yearbook photographer and my biggest hobby and art form was nature photography. I enrolled in every art class I possibly could in high school to learn more about art. After high school I earned an AAS in Photographic Imaging from SUNY Suffolk. I became a professional photographer for a photography company and started my own small photography business. In 2006, I returned to college at SUNY New Paltz for my BS in Visual Arts Education. During my time at SUNY New Paltz, my art making grew tremendously. I enrolled in courses like painting, drawing, wood-working, 2D/3D design, recycled design, art history and art theory. After graduating, I was blessed with an art teaching position at Franklin Early Childhood Center and Hewlett High School. There I worked with the first graders and high school student for two years before moving to Ogden. My time in Hewlett-Woodmere Public Schools has gone by fast. This is now my fifth year in Hewlett and I plan to add many more.
