- Hewlett Elementary School
- Welcome Letter
-
Dear Hewlett Elementary Community,
It is a privilege to introduce myself as the new principal of Hewlett Elementary School. I am so honored to join this extraordinary school community. I hope this letter finds your family enjoying the summer and everyone is able to relax and get rejuvenated. I am eager and energized as I look forward to beginning a wonderful school year together in September.
I have been dedicated to the field of education for more than twenty-one years. Prior to becoming the principal here, I worked with students from Pre-K through fifth grade in a variety of roles. I was both a fifth grade and a first grade teacher, an Instructional Coach, as well as an Assistant Principal for the past 9 years. I am excited to utilize my skills as an educational leader at HES and work with families as a partner in education to ensure your child’s success.
In addition to my role as an educator, I am first and foremost a mother and wife. My husband, Alex, and I reside in Old Bethpage. In September, my son Gabriel will begin eighth grade, and my son Jordan will begin sixth grade. I look forward to introducing my family to everyone, as I know they are anxious to attend future Hewlett events.
I strongly believe that students are at the center of all school-related decisions. I believe that fostering relationships with students and families is vital to creating a school community that is built on trust, communication, and teamwork. I am passionate about creating a safe and authentic educational space in order to empower greatness in students, educators, and the school community at large. I encourage you to become involved in every way possible.
I feel very fortunate to be part of this school and to support the students and families. I am enthusiastic to continue old HES traditions, while creating new ones together. Enjoy the rest of your summer!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Heather Sosnovsky
Principal
