Dr. Nicole Montellese, Interim Chairperson
Welcome to the Department of World Languages!
In a world that is rapidly becoming interdependent, command of world languages is more and more necessary, not only for travel, but in politics, industry, commerce, and the arts. The increasing number of various language groups within the United States has created a critical need in many careers for persons trained in world languages. The study of a world language can provide practical communication skills and understanding of another culture. Your choice of college or employment will be wider as a result of the study of a world language.
Hewlett-Woodmere students can participate in courses such as Chinese, French, Italian, Spanish, ASL, and English as a New Language.
