Dear Members of the Hewlett-Woodmere Community,
I hope you all had a wonderful summer and are enjoying the first few days of school. There is nothing quite like the excitement of a new school year.
While I am sure we all hoped that the 2021-22 school year would look different, it was so wonderful to see ALL of our students and staff back with their school families once again.
Similar to last year, revised health and safety requirements from the Governor’s office, the New York State Department of Health, and the New York State Education Department are arriving at a rapid pace. As always, we will continue to share new guidance with you as we receive it and it is imperative that we keep the lines of communication open. Updated COVID-19 information can be found on our Website by clicking HERE. Our current health and safety guidelines can be found in the August 20 Update IV letter.
While I know that there are many differing opinions regarding masks and social distancing requirements, please know that all decisions are made with only one goal in mind - the health and safety of our students, staff, and visitors. There is simply NOTHING more important.
I cannot emphasize enough the significance of all of us continuing to work together to keep our wonderful community safe during these uncertain times.
I am pleased to share the long-awaited return of in-person events to all of our buildings. I look forward to seeing you in the stands cheering on the Bulldogs, in the audience at concerts and musicals, and in our hallways for many after-school activities. Please be sure to check the District calendar often so you can share in these wonderful opportunities.
On behalf of the entire Hewlett-Woodmere staff, I wish you and your families a safe, healthy, and successful school year.
Ralph Marino, Jr., Ed.D.
