Beginning in the 2014-2015 school year, the Hewlett-Woodmere Public School District began administering the Northwest Evaluation Association (NWEA) Measure of Academic Progress (MAP) in mathematics to students in kindergarten through grade eight. In 2019-2020, the Hewlett-Woodmere School District expanded the NWEA MAP to include reading in the same grades. These assessments will be administered in the fall and spring. These assessments are given to provide diagnostic information on each student so that we can better meet their individual needs. The students do not receive grades, and the assessment plays no role in teacher evaluation.
Parents will receive their child's Student Progress Reports after each administration. The resources to the left can help you assist your child as they progress through the curriculum.
