• Stretching their minds and bodies through the wonders of discovery, Franklin's children embrace learning with a smile and secure their place in the community. There are many traditions students at Franklin enjoy each year they spend with us. Some of these time honored traditions include Kindergarten’s Jungle in the gymnasium, First Grade’s annual “Disney in the Park” physical education program, and the Annual Music Gala for 1st graders. School-wide traditions abound as well, with all students participating in Read Across America in celebration of Dr. Seuss’ birthday, Parents as Reading Partners and the American Heart Association’s Jump Rope for Heart program.

As partners in their child's education, parents participate in the school-wide volunteer programs and fill the auditorium for student performances.

Responding to those in need, Franklin youngsters collect foodstuffs and small gifts for worthy causes. A charming moving-up ceremony for 1st graders marks the transition to the upper grades. At the height of the festivities, youngsters turn baseball caps worn backward to the front to reveal the name of their new elementary school – either Hewlett or Ogden.
