It is important that your child read and reread just right books at their independent level each day.  This will help to increase accuracy, fluency, and comprehension as well as build stamina.  Magazines provide a good opportunity to expose your child to multi-genres, as well as spark interest.  It is imperative that your child spend at least 40 uninterrupted minutes daily to read, read, read.

“If our goal is for children to grow as readers, the one single thing they most need is time to read.”  -Lucy Calkins
