August 2016

Dear Franklin Families,

I hope that the summer has been pleasant for all of you.  In just a few weeks, we will be together, ready to begin a new school year.  At Franklin, community and family are cornerstones of what makes our school so special. The faculty and staff, along with the administration, are intensely committed to working together with parents and caregivers to provide the children with nothing but the best we have to offer. The faculty and staff are intensely collegial, and each works diligently to foster this sense of community. Additionally, they take very personally the task at hand - to ensure that each and every child develops to their fullest potential; academically, socially, and emotionally.

Our teachers and staff have been preparing for the arrival of students. They have attended professional development trainings and are prepared to implement many new strategies to implement instruction for all of our student’s needs. Our teachers have been writing curriculum and preparing their classrooms to make for another exciting and productive year at Franklin.

At Franklin, it seems we all share a common goal, a shared sense of value, and most of all, a common personal passion for doing good.  Together we work to monitor and further our progress toward extremely high, but realistic standards, seek out novel and creative ways to improve our instructional endeavors, and to constantly strive for excellence.  In addition to educating our children, we strive to encourage creative thinkers, competent problem solvers and above all, human beings with social awareness and concern for others. At Franklin, we understand this tremendous responsibility we have.

I’d like to invite you to visit our school’s website. This will serve as a resource tool for all upcoming events, student/parent handbook, and important reminders through our “Wednesday Weekly News”.

I am dedicated to ensuring that ALL children at Franklin have a positive learning experience as they learn and grow both socially and academically throughout their school years with us.

In closing, please enjoy the remaining days of summer. I look forward to seeing many new and familiar faces on our first day of school. Our vision of success begins September 6, 2016.

Sincerely,

Lorraine Smyth, Ed.D.,

Principal
