Job Opportunities

The employees of Hewlett-Woodmere constitute the most important resource we have for providing a quality educational program for the students we serve. Recognizing this, it is the goal of the Human Resources Department to recruit and select the very best available candidates, to promote employee/employer relations, and to provide a climate in which optimum staff performance and satisfaction are produced.

Employment opportunities at Hewlett-Woodmere are available in the areas of administration, certified, classified, substitute and summer. Applicants are required to submit online applications. Submission of the online application benefits the applicant by immediately making the application accessible to all district administrators.

Legislation was passed, effective July 1, 2001, that requires all prospective school district employees to be fingerprinted for a criminal history background check in order to be cleared for employment at a school or for certification. Applicants who have been recommended for a position with the Hewlett-Woodmere School District will be assisted with the fingerprint process.

Certified positions include all positions that require certification by the State of New York. This category includes administrative positions, teaching positions, counselors, psychologists, etc. Substitutes and summer teachers are included in certified positions.
