Mr. Brian Villegas

Mr. Villegas is in his fourth year with the Hewlett-Woodmere Public School District, and is a native Five Towner. Brian graduated from Lawrence High School in 1995 and attended The University of Miami, receiving a Bachelor of Music in Studio Music and Jazz Vocal Performance. Following his undergraduate studies, Brian returned to the area to begin a career as a professional vocalist, performing all over the Western Hemisphere and headlining in some of finest music venues in New York City and beyond, such as Birdland, The Rainbow Room, the Count Basie Theatre and Jazz at Lincoln Center. In 2012, Brian became certified by the New York State Department of Education as a K-12 music teacher and received a Master of Science from Queens College in 2016. 

 

Along with being the Director of "James and the Giant Peach Jr.", Mr. "V" will also be directing the 6th and 7th Grade Chorus and co-directing the H.S. Mixed Chorus. Mr. Villegas is thrilled to be a part of the Hewlett-Woodmere music staff and looks forward to sharing his professional and educational experiences with the students of Hewlett-Woodmere.
