The Hewlett High School Mathematics Department aims to provide students with instruction that allows them to grow in their conceptual understanding of mathematics. Such instruction prepares our students not only academically, but to be problem solvers in real-world contexts. Areas of study include Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II, Precalculus, Calculus, and Statistics. Use of graphing calculators as a technological tool is emphasized throughout this academic program.
Outside the classroom, we have students involved in Operation Success and peer tutoring program, Nassau County Mathletes Competition, and the American Mathematics Competition (AMC 10/12). We are looking forward to an exciting year and welcome students to take part in our activities.
