Dear Parents and Guardians,
We hope you are all safe and well.
As you know, last week Governor Cuomo announced that schools in New York would remain closed for the duration of the academic year. We know this information was extremely difficult to hear, particularly for our graduating classes.
We have received many inquiries regarding the status of our end-of-year events and ceremonies. It is our fervent hope that we will be able to celebrate with you and your children in person. As of now, Governor Cuomo plans to announce summer guidelines at the end of May. If permitted, we will hold our moving up ceremonies during the summer months. It is important to note that any in-person celebrations will need to adhere to the Governor’s Executive Order and social distancing guidelines that are in place at the time.
If summer celebrations are not possible, we will plan alternative ceremonies for students and families. An alternative ceremony can take many forms. Please know that we are already hard at work exploring options for wonderful commemorations of your child’s achievements. It is our mission to ensure that all students receive the special recognition they so richly deserve.
We will keep in touch with you as decisions are made regarding our moving up ceremony and other events. Until then, we wish you and your families well.
