As the Superintendent of Hewlett-Woodmere Public Schools, I wanted to take a few minutes out of my day to reach out to you while schools are closed. I know that there have been a number of changes in your lives over the last couple of weeks and I hope that you are adjusting well.
I know that remote learning is very different from what you are used to, but from what I am hearing from your principals and teachers, you are all doing a fantastic job! Remember, everyone is learning how to work differently, even me. Virtual meetings now fill my day!
While we are all learning and working from home it is so important for you to keep in touch with your teachers and classmates…virtually, of course! Your teachers, and everyone here at Hewlett-Woodmere Public Schools, are here to help you achieve success.
We are so lucky to live in such a warm and caring community and I have no doubt that we will get through these challenging times together.
I really miss seeing all of you at your schools, in your classrooms, and at your special events and games. I would love to hear about what you are learning, so please feel free to share examples of your work with me via email!
Remember, together, we WILL weather the storm and emerge into the sunshine! I wish you and your families well.
