Dear Franklin Families,
A Color of his Own, by Leo Lionni is January’s Book of the Month. This book tells the tale of a chameleon that wishes he could have a color that is all his own, like the gray elephant and the pink pig.
The chameleon searches for an answer to his problem and how he can fit in with the other animals. He isolates himself from the others because he doesn’t like being different. It isn’t until he meets another chameleon who has the same dilemma that he finds his happiness.
The two chameleons stay together so that they will always be the same color together and they are never alone.
