Student Created Caffeine Experiments:
Coffee Anyone!
Students in eighth grade science classes used 3D printed, small seed, multiple chamber test pots to explore the influences that caffeine has on the germination and growth of radish seeds. Student in Mrs. Sinkus’ class worked in groups to develop their own unique experimental designs to explore this topic. Student measure specific amounts of powdered caffeine to add to radish seeds while germinating. Some groups choose to created solutions of varying strengths, while other groups decided to mix different amounts of caffeine directly into the soil. After one week the students examined the results of their investigation, created charts and graphs, and shared their results with the class.
