Thespian Inductions 2012
On May 15th the International Thespian Society welcomed 34 new members to the troupe (and all-time record for Hewlett!). Students earn membership by gaining points for participating in various theater activities such as the Hewlett Theater Company productions, the High School Musical, Theater Class showcases, Thespian performance events and the Senior Theater Project One-Acts. The goal of Thespian Society is to provide opportunities for performance events in educational theater and to honor students who have dedicated themselves to theatrical work -onstage and backstage-at the high school. Advisor, Dawn DeMaio, organized the ceremony and reception with the help of the Thespian Society officers which included Sam Berman, Samantha Schechter, Taylor Nortman, Alina Rizvi, Jesse Elias, Marina Perper and Emily Rebenstock.
The Hewlett Theater Company proudly presents the hilarious comedy “Time Flies” being performed on May 2nd and 3rd at 4:00pm and May 4th and 5th at 8:00pm in the Little Theater. Tickets are $10 and will be sold on April 30th and May 1st after school in the Student Commons and 30 minutes before each performance. Please join us!
There will be a mandatory meeting for all Thespians on Wednesday, May 9th at 3:00pm in the Little Theater. The topics will include graduation cords and inductions. All potential Thespians, who believe they have earned the required amount of points for inductions on May 15th, must also attend this meeting. See Ms. DeMaio for more information.
A mandatory officer’s meeting will follow the May 9th meeting. Expect to stay until 5:00pm to plan Inductions.
Senior Theater Projects: May 22nd and 23rd at 3:30 pm.
Thespian Policy for GRADUATION CHORDS!
Please note that seniors must apply for a Graduation Chord at our April meeting. Seniors must have completed a minimum of 5 Thespian points per year (points do not carry over from year to year) in order to be a member in good standing and receive a chord at graduation. If you attend or participate in a Thespian event, please be sure to sign in to receive credit. Remember, you must fill out a Thespian Chord application yearly in order to receive your graduation chord.
