Ogden's Shared Vision
On Tuesday June 9th the third grade classes at Ogden came together to celebrate our different cultures. This was a culminating event after a year of studying cultures from around the world. It involved music and art from China, Brazil, and America. Students also prepared and ate foods from the different countries. All the students gained an appreciation of the similarities and differences of these cultures.
Members of the 4th and 5th grade put on “100 Years of Broadway” as part of Music Theatre Workshop. The cast took the audience on a musical journey through the history and changes of Broadway and the musical theatre. The show began with songs from Broadway’s early years and progressed through the decades until contemporary times. Some of the songs highlighted in the show included, “There’s No Business Like Show Business,” “Seventy-Six Trombones,” “Yankee Doodle Dandy,” “Tomorrow,” and “Greased Lightning.” The students certainly gave their regards to Broadway through their spectacular performance!
Ogden 4th grade students took home the SILVER medal on Sunday, April 26, 2015. Twelve students were selected to participate in this event after the whole grade did an amazing job in their Dancing Classrooms of Long Island performance in March! Mrs. Restivo, Mr. Boyes, Ms. Romeo and Mr. DeSanto even joined in on the fun as adult performers. Congratulations to all!
