SUMMER LEARNING ACADEMY POSITIONS



SUMMER LEARNING ACADEMY PRINCIPALS (Certified Position) -Hewlett High School, Franklin Early Childhood Center, July 1 - July 31

Experienced Certified Teacher with New York State Administrative Certification preferred. Grade K-8. This position requires pre and post-season work.


SUMMER LEARNING ACADEMY TEACHERS (Certified Position)- Hewlett High School, Franklin Early Childhood Center, July 1 - July 31

Instruct students enrolled in the Summer Learning Academy.


SUMMER LEARNING ACADEMY ASSISTANTS (Classified Position) - Hewlett High School, Franklin Early Childhood Center, July 1- July 31

Primary responsibilities include assisting Summer Learning Academy teachers.  Previous experience as a teacher aide preferred.







SUMMER PLAYSCHOOL PROGRAM POSITIONS



SUMMER PLAYSCHOOL LEAD INSTRUCTOR (Certified Position)- Hewlett High School, Franklin Early Childhood Center, July 1- August 7

Experienced Certified Teacher, with team leadership and/or supervisor experience required.  NYS Administrative Certification preferred.  This position requires pre-season preparation and post season work.


SUMMER PLAYSCHOOL INSTRUCTORS (Classified Position)- Hewlett High School, Franklin Early Childhood Center, July 1- August 7

Experienced teachers or professionals with a BS/BA degree in Education or a related field preferred.  Playschool instructors are needed in the following areas:  Generalists, Physical Education, Computers, Theater, Sports and Music.


SUMMER PLAYSCHOOL ASSISTANTS (Classified Position)- Hewlett High School, July 1- August 7

Primary responsibilities include assisting Summer Playschool Instructors.  Previous experience as a teacher aide preferred.


SUMMER PLAYSCHOOL STUDENT ASSISTANTS (Classified Position)- Franklin Early Childhood Center and Hewlett High School, July 1 - August 7

Applicants are high school and or college students in good academic standing. References required. Fingerprinting clearance is required for all students who will not be enrolled at Hewlett High School in the fall of 2009. Minimum age 15.  Working papers required for all minors.


NURSES FOR SUMMER PROGRAMS (Classified Position)- Hewlett High School, Franklin Early Childhood Center, July 1- August 7

Registered Nurse (School Nurse experience). Current certifications and license are required.



NOTES:Continuing Hewlett High School students are exempt from fingerprint regulations. All other candidates must receive fingerprint clearance prior to appointment. Being fingerprinted and cleared is not a guarantee of employment; it is a condition of employment for non-student employees.





SUMMER AQUATICS PROGRAM POSITIONS



SUMMER LIFEGUARDS (Classified Position)- Hewlett High School Pool, July 1 - August 7

Nassau County Lifeguard Certification with CPR certificates as required.


SUMMER WATER SAFETY INSTRUCTORS (Classified Position) -Hewlett High School Pool, July 1 - August 7

Certified WSI instructor with CPR Certificates as required.





NOTES: Continuing Hewlett High School students are exempt from fingerprint regulations. All other candidates must receive fingerprint clearance prior to appointment. Being fingerprinted and cleared is not a guarantee of employment; it is a condition of employment for non-student employees.

  1. Applicants for positions which require a fingerprint clearance as a condition of employment are advised that this process takes several weeks and occurs at a cost to the applicants. Early applications are recommended. Do not delay.
  2. Aquatic staff are paid on a scale based on certifications, experience and years in service. Submit certifications with application.
  3. Current district employees are encouraged to apply via a cover letter, resume and copies of appropriate certifications.
  4. Non-district employees should submit an online application, with a letter of interest, a current resume and current certifications.
